these freezer containers are wonderful! if you like to do advanced preparation and plan meals ahead of time and keep your freezer stocked, you will love these containers. I have been using them for several years and recently ordered this manufacturer and ordered twice more because the quality is so nice. They're also handy to use for gifting in this size for cookies or fudge, etc., and a circle of decorative fabric or paper can be tied around the top lid and a tag attached and then the recipient not only has a nice treat, but has a reusable container as a bonus. They are free of known harmful chemicals. I use these when making soup, chili and other meals. I can freeze the size that I desire and label it with a little piece of freezer tape (tape sold separately) so I remember what's in them. These freezer containers are of the most used items in my kitchen and meal planning. They wash fine in the dishwasher (I put them in the top rack). They are not entirely leakproof but I'd say 99% leak proof which is good for a container without a silicon gasket. I just recently froze homemade turkey soup, broth, gravey in these and need to order more. When I go to visit my folks I can bring them frozen soup that is half thawed by the time I arrive or tuck in a couple pieces of wrapped dry ice and they stay frozen and ro right into their freezer.
